Questa è
una illustrazione pubblicata sul 4°
volume della serie Dinosauri.
Si tratta di un remake di una tavola che avevo realizzato 4 anni fa:
a parte l'impostazione della posa e dell'ambientazione, non è
rimasto nulla della vecchia tavola.
L'animale è il famoso – e mitizzato – Spinosaurus
aegyptiacus, uno dei più grandi Teropodi mai esistiti (lungo
oltre 15 metri).
Mi piaceva l'idea di rappresentarlo diverso dall'immagine comune di
"mostrosauro", che è ovviamente falsa.
Si tratta di un dinosauro enorme e pesante, e si comportava più
come un orso che non come una tigre.
La tavola ha richiesto una dozzina di ore di lavoro, non ho usato refs. |

This is an
illustration for the 4th volume
of the "Dinosaurs".
It's a remake of a painting I made 4 years ago: except the pose and
the environment idea, anything of the old painting has been saved.
The animal is the famous Spinosaurus aegyptiacus, one of largest
Theropods ever (over 15m/50ft long).
I liked the idea of depicting it in a way different by the common "spinozilla",
which is obviously false. This was a huge and heavy dinosaur, and it
behaved more like a Bear than like a Tiger.
A dozen hours of work, no refs. |
